Our Friday morning keynote speaker this year will be Charlie Miller, the Founder and Chief Designer of Flipgrid. If you aren't already using this tool with your students, Flipgrid is a social learning platform "where your students go to share ideas and learn together." Learn more at the Flipgrid website.

The Call for Proposals is open!
The Call for Proposals for sessions is open! Share your knowledge with your colleagues, impress your administrators, and add a notch on your professional development plan! Our friendly and supportive conference is a great place to present whether it's your first time or your hundredth - plus, the lead presenter gets a one-year membership ($60 value!) or a $50 discount on registration. 

Exhibitors, authors, bookstore...

  • The conference is a great chance to visit one-on-one with vendors to find out about the latest products available. Our vendor members are a huge support for the organization, so be sure to stop by and return the favor.
  • Authors, authors, everywhere! Each year ITEM features a number of local authors who are available to sign books and share about their work. In addition to the luncheon author panel this year there will also be a breakout session or two featuring the authors.
  • Just learned about a new local author and you simply must have a copy of their book? Visit the ITEM Bookstore!

Get away and re-charge with other library and technology folks!
This year we're at the beautiful Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria, right on the shore of Lake Darling. Take a little time during the conference for a walk by the lake, or bring the whole family and let the kids enjoy the water park! Rooms under the ITEM block are $109/night (+ tax) and reservations can be made online here, or contact the resort directly at 866-386-5263 to take advantage of their $139/night special that includes a pass for four to the water park (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday only). Be sure to specify that you're with ITEM.

    If you're able to come up on Thursday night for the Fellowship Dinner or just to check in to your room and relax, come join us at the Carlos Creek Winery from 6:30-10:00pm. We'll have a shuttle making regular trips back and forth (it's not far from the resort) and there is no charge other than whatever beverages you purchase. Start your conference off with a little relaxation and networking!
